Toronto Public Health Warns Downtown Cafe Customers Of Possible Exposure To Omicron Variant Of COVID-19

Toronto Public Health is warning people who visited a cafe in downtown Toronto of possible exposure to the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The warning applies to anyone who has visited Small coffee and wine located at 111 John Street last weekend during the following hours: between 9 p.m. on November 26 and 2 a.m. on November 27 and between 9 p.m. on November 27 and 2 a.m. on November 28.

“The case linked to this establishment is being investigated by TPH as a suspected case of the Omicron variant, due to the individual’s recent travel history to South Africa,” who was working during those periods, according to a press release.

“There is no risk to anyone who attends the facility outside these dates and times,” the public health agency said, adding that it is following up on all close contacts of staff asking them to self-isolate for 10 days and do the proof.

TPH is asking, “out of great caution, since TPH does not have access to a contact tracing record,” anyone who has attended the café during those times should:

  • Get tested right away and monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 10 days after your last visit for the indicated time period.
  • Get tested if you have symptoms since the event, including mild symptoms and even if you no longer have symptoms. Isolate yourself while the test results are pending.
