Arson investigators by Montreal police have been assigned to examine the circumstances behind a fire early Friday that destroyed a trio of 53-foot-long trailers.

The incident occurred at 2:30 am in a commercial parking lot on Métropolitain Blvd. near Langelier Blvd. in the municipality of Saint-Léonard.

Firefighters had already controlled the flames when police arrived on the scene, however, the damage caused by the fire was such that police described the trailers as a total loss.

No evidence was immediately found to indicate how the fire had been started. The flames did not spread beyond the trailers and no injuries were reported.
