The Windsor-Essex Catholic District school board confirmed Thursday that police were present at the school that morning “as a precaution” after investigators determined there was “no credible threat to the school community.”
LaSalle police told the Star shortly before 12:30 p.m. that there was no concern for the safety of anyone in the school community or the general public in connection with the threat.
School board spokesman Steven Fields said the school administration is “cooperating with the LaSalle Police Service and will conduct an investigation of its own” into the matter.

As soon as police reported to the school, the school administration notified staff of the problem via email, and the entire school community was notified via voicemail Wednesday night, Fields said.
Since the matter remains under investigation, he said, the school board will not release details about the nature of the threat.
