They will maintain extended hours and food

The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) announced that, for this year, the Escuela es Nuestra program will have an increase of up to 33% in its budget for extended hours and food service within educational establishments, all of this , within the framework of the controversy generated by the announcement of the elimination of the Full Time Schools program.

At a morning press conference, the head of the SEP, Delfina Gómez, reported that this budget increase for the La Escuela es Nuestra program will not only increase the number of schools benefiting from the program, but will also increase the amounts granted for each campus.

It should be noted that the announcement is made after this Monday the Seventh District Judge in Administrative Matters of the CDMX issued a definitive suspension so that the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) refrains from applying the Rules of Operation of La Escuela es Nuestra , due to the fact that they do not contemplate resources for the granting of services to extend the school day and food service for basic education students, who were part of the Full Time Schools program.

According to what was stated by the educational authorities, the increase in resources ranges between 50,000 and 100,000 pesos for the educational establishments that are part of Escuela es Nuestra.

Pamela López Ruiz, coordinator of La Escuela es Nuestra, explained that despite the fact that this program focuses on the delivery of direct resources for infrastructure, this year support will be provided to incorporate extended hours and food service, delivered directly to family parents.

He indicated that the amounts granted to the schools of this program will be increased between 20 and 33% based on the number of students, so that 45,000 schools could benefit in 2022.

Likewise, he said that in the case of schools with up to 50 students, it will increase from 150,000 to 200,000 pesos; campuses with 51 and up to 150 students, the amount they will receive will be 250,000 pesos; in the case of schools with more than 150 students, they will receive 600,000 pesos.
