They seek to eradicate discrimination in football

According to data from the National Survey on Discrimination (ENADIS) 2017, 20.2% of the 84 million people aged 18 and over have felt discriminated against for some reason in the country, generating negative effects on people’s lives and have to do with the loss of rights and inequality in accessing them; This can lead to isolation, violence, and even, in extreme cases, loss of life.

Among the prejudices to eradicate is one rooted in soccer, and that is that for approximately 17 years Mexican soccer has faced a great challenge in stadiums, the so-called “homophobic cry”, an expression that has seriously affected this sport when seeking to intimidate the opponent and is a clear representation of the discrimination and prejudices that exist in society.

Rexona’s movement #YoMeMuevoPorElFutbol invites us to add the support of the fans in favor of a positive environment on and off the pitch. This support is expressed by digitally “signing” a commitment in which as soccer fans they remember the positive values that this sport teaches so that the only shouts in the stadium are to cheer on the favorite team, have fun without discrimination or prejudice and what else people can live the passion of soccer by ceasing to justify acts of discrimination and prejudice such as the “homophobic scream”.

In addition, as part of #YoMeMuevoPorElFutbol, Rexona will support the Quick Soccer Organization of Barrios Azcapotzalco in CDMX with the refurbishment of the El Barril field, and with a training program for 282 young people between 10 and 17 years old and the training of coaches.

The initiative seeks to impact 23 million Mexicans through the signing of the commitment in https://www.rexona.com/mx/memuevoporelfutbol.html
