They report robbery in the port of Manzanillo

A group of more than 12 people stole 20 containers, which contained precious metals such as gold and silver, as well as zinc and some electrical appliances, from the port of Manzanillo, Colima.

According to local media, the alleged criminals arrived at the Alonso Mireles Maneuvering Company (MAM) in trucks and, after subduing the workers, occupied machinery from the same maneuvering yard to proceed to remove the merchandise in tractor-trailers.

The local prosecutor’s office would already investigate the issue, however, no official statement has been issued for the robbery, which was described as historic by the local press. Unofficially, the robbery was carried out on June 5, at dawn.

At last Sunday’s conference of the State Coordination Table for the Construction of Peace and Security in Colima, spokesman Gustavo Adrián Joya did not touch the subject. According to the Port Law, the Navy is in charge of the security of the country’s ports. (Drafting)
