There will be no extension for carriers in a new tax obligation: SICT

Cancun, Qroo. The federal government gave a resounding no to the proposal of the carriers to grant them a new extension to the implementation of the Income-type Digital Tax Receipt (CFDI) with Carta Porte complement, and argued that this will end with smuggling and informality.

Salomón Elnecavé, general director of Federal Autotransport of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), affirmed that the Letter Porte is a proof of the legality of the goods transported by truck men, so that whoever does not bring it, will have tax and penalty issues. When participating in the 21 National Transport Forum of the National Association of Private Transporters (ANTP), he explained that as of December 1, they will not be able to deduct the transport services of goods or merchandise with a CFDI of the Income type without complement Letter Porte .

“An extension has already been given, an extension has been given, we are about to enter a period of operation on December 1, still with some flexibility so as not to generate sanctions, but it is the only deadline that currently exists, because from the first of In January, carriers must issue their corresponding tax receipt, either for entry or transfer and the Letter of Carriage ”, he clarified in an interview after his participation in the event.

However, Alex Theissen, president of the ANTP, warned that more than 80% of the transport companies could be out of compliance with this requirement, since it is complicated both in costs and in administrative regulation. So he urged the authority to grant a deadline.

The SICT director rejected the concern of the carriers, and said: “what is sought is to invite all carriers to operate in formality. If this procedure is not carried out, they cannot be deductible, it will be a process, there will be situations that will have to be adjusted with the SAT, but fortunately, those who are more prepared for the Carta Porte are the motor carriers, the others do not have it, as the air, sea, rail, those that are more prepared is the motor transport ”.

As the rule is mandatory as of December 1, the personnel of the SICT, the National Guard and health authorities, among others, who travel on highways may request the transporters for the invoice or bills with a Letter Porte supplement.
