When it seemed that the war between Paul Married and Isabel Diaz Ayuso had reached its maximum level after the accusations launched at each other on Thursday, the two leaders confirm that they have no intention of lowering the tension and that they will go all the way defending their positions. No one doubts anymore within the Popular Party that only one of the two can resist. “Coexistence is impossible. Everything has blown up&rdquor ;, assure different popular positions this Friday after listening to the words of the leader of the PP, who denied in an interview granted to the Cope chain that he had hatched a plan to discredit the president and end his political career.
The leader of the PP defended the actions taken since its formation and the internal investigation that was opened after news reached him of the alleged commission that Ayuso’s brother charged for mediating a contract awarded from the Community of Madrid in the worst moments of the pandemic. “We did not do it with any inquisitorial desire&rdquor ;, he reiterated, defending his goal that the party meets the exemplary standards required by the militancy. And, in addition to directly encrypting that commission at 286,000 euros, he did not skimp on making his position on the case clear: “It is a sufficiently relevant amount so that someone can think that there has been influence peddling”.
And the leader of the PP did not stop there: “I would not allow a brother of mine to charge 300,000 euros for a contract awarded by my Council of Ministers”, Casado stressed, clearly pointing out Ayuso’s performance: “We want to see what has happened. And if it is not irregular, it is not exemplary either.” In Genoa they insist on the version that they began a procedure provided for in the party’s internal regulations at the turn of the summer when Casado received information “with tax and bank data & rdquor; of “a public entity & rdquor; (he completely denies that it was Moncloa as Ayuso said yesterday) and that “in those cases of possible irregularity” The first thing they did was ask those affected.
If there is evidence, it is sent to the Prosecutor’s Office and the procedure is initiated. The thing is, for now, Genoa has not provided that evidence. Casado himself assured that he “had nothing against Isabel & rdquor; but that, he understood, that she had to put on the table with total transparency the data that affects her brother Tomás de ella.
As if it were a tennis match, Ayuso entered the same radio station shortly after to give his version and reply to the president. And the president reiterated that “they will not find a single piece of evidence against her or her government” of having granted favored treatment to anyone in his environment.
