The Valencian Community will fine both customers and bars that violate the covid passport

The sanctions in the Valencian Community for individuals and locales of hotels, restaurants, leisure and entertainment that fail to comply with the mandatory covid certificate, which comes into effect at midnight from Friday to Saturday, may go from 60 to 30,000 euros. Other communities like Catalonia will only fine establishments, But this is not the case in the Valencian Community, which will fine both establishments and customers who do not have the covid certificate.

The Valencian Government has modified Decree Law 11/2020, of July 24, of the Consell, of a specific sanctioning regime against breaches of the regulatory provisions of the prevention measures against covid-19, cThere are two new sections in two articles, given the compulsory nature of the certificate in access to certain spaces in the Valencian Community.

Are introduced light penalties of between 60 and 600 euros for individuals who fail to comply with the restrictions on entry or display of the corresponding documents, being duly announced, in reference to customers who sneak into the premises or do not show the corresponding passport.

Sanctions of 60 to 600 euros may also be imposed on premises that fail to comply with the obligation to place posters or information measures in which it is enforceable according to the orders of the health authority, according to Efe sources from the Generalitat.

For breaches of the owner of the establishment in the obligation to apply for a passport and of those who allow access to the interior of the premises where it is required, the fines range from 601 to 30,000 euros, and will be considered serious.

All these penalties will be applicable to hotel, restaurant, leisure and entertainment venues with capacity greater than 50 people; to places of recreational activities and of chance with service of restoration; and at events, celebrations and music festivals with attendance of more than 500 people and where permanent use of the mask is not possible.

The modification of the sanctioning regime against compliance with measures prevention against covid will be approved this Friday in the plenary session of the Valencian Government.
