Mazatlán, Sin., May 31, 2022.- The International Tourist Tianguis of Mexico in Acapulco, left magnificent results for Sinaloa, such as the increase in air connectivity, in addition to the links that the municipalities made with tour operators, travel agencies and event organizers to offer their tourist destinations.

The Volaris company will analyze the growth of frequencies of the Mazatlán, Culiacán and Los Mochis routes and the possibility of opening the Culiacán-Toluca and Mazatlán-Toluca routes.

They will seek to have the Mazatlán-Bajío flight, hand in hand with Euromundo, which proposed activating a test route from the Bajío to Mazatlán, in the summer of 2022, and the possibility of making packages that include transportation to Los Mochis and departures to the route of the Chepe, said the state official.

For international flights, from Canada and the United States, he commented that they met with Westjet, Swoop and American Airlines, requesting the route programming proposal for the next winter season, expanding connectivity to more destinations in those countries.

He argued that with the merger that will take place between Sunwing and Westjet airlines, there was talk of establishing a year-round flight from Calgary to Mazatlan.

The “Mar de Cortés” brand was also presented to jointly detonate tourism in the states of Sinaloa, Nayarit, Baja California Norte, Baja California Sur and Sonora.

Torres Noriega commented that Sinaloa will host the next meeting of governors of the five states that share the Sea of ​​Cortez, to which the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, is invited.

As the beginning of the collaborations, a bipartite strategy with an English court is proposed to detonate the La Paz – Topolobampo Ahome-El Fuerte-Creel route, collaborating with Chepe and Baja Ferries.

For its part, El Fuerte Pueblo Mágico and the Mexican Sports Tourism Council (COMETUD) will sign an inter-institutional collaboration agreement to strengthen economic and social development through sports issues.

The director of Tourism Promotion of the Sectur, Edna Gutiérrez, reported that part of the next actions for tourism planning is to generate alliances with business partners that allow greater penetration in the markets and to be able to promote products in time and with a high impact. .

One of these actions is the signing of a letter of intent for joint collaboration for the tourism promotion of the State of Sinaloa in Cross Border Xpress to promote Sinaloa destinations with connectivity to Tijuana connecting to the United States.

Julio Birrueta, from the Mazatlán Hotel and Motel Association, explained the achievements made in national connectivity, with flights that were quickly recovered after the pandemic, announcing the consolidation of routes, such as the daily Viva Aerobus flight from Mazatlán to Tijuana and Monterrey, which will give high growth.

“For months, what we had stopped receiving abroad has been recovered, where work has not stopped to continue receiving flights to this town,” he added.

The president of the Tres Islas Hotel Association, José Ramón Manguart, said that one of the important things is that from January to April there is a growth in air flow of 53.6 percent, of which it is a 35.8 increase in the national and a 153.7 internationally.

“For summer the expectation is to walk in the 80 percent average and be within the five favorite destinations to travel to,” he said.

He announced that after 30 years Mazatlan will host the National Assembly of the Mexican Association of Hotels, next November, with the attendance of approximately 150 hotel owners in the country and will be attended by the Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco.
