The Slim family’s UnoTV has lost a quarter of its audience in 12 months


UnoTV, Telcel’s news and information service, registers a 26% loss in its multiplatform traffic between April 2021 and March 2022.

The traffic graph of UnoTV, linked to the largest mobile operator in the market, owned by the family of Carlos Slim Helú, shows a sharp drop barely softened by the records of 2022, according to monitoring by El Economista and Comscore for the Ranking of Digital Native Media.

In quarterly averages, UnoTV registers an audience of 14 million unique visitors compared to 7 million for its closest competitor, MedioTiempo, from Grupo Milenio.

The top 10 of the Digital Native Media Ranking in March 2022, measured by cross-platform unique visitors, was established as follows:

  1. One TV: 12,925 million (+5% monthly)
  2. Halftime: 8,196 million (+2% monthly)
  3. SDP News: 4,789 million (+1% monthly)
  4. gastrolab: 4,397 million (-9% monthly)
  5. I’m Carmin: 3,932 million (+15% monthly)
  6. I am Soccer: 3,461 million (+59% monthly)
  7. Sports Herald: 3,242 million (0% monthly)
  8. The Broken Chair: 3,240 million (+9% monthly)
  9. MyPocket: 3,038 million (-34% monthly)
  10. Shownews: 3,013 million (-33% monthly)

The Ranking of Native Digital Media carried out month by month by The Economist Y Comscore Since 2015, it has analyzed the volume of native digital media users in Mexico who produce and distribute content, regardless of category (news, entertainment, sports, humor). Only sites whose main distribution and business channels were born in digital formats are taken into account, even if they later developed traditional media ventures, such as print, radio or television. The volume of unique users is analyzed on three platforms: smartphones, tablets and desktops.
