David Bondia, Catalan Ombudsman, who took office on October 6, will begin this Thursday a round of visits to facilities of the Urban Guard to analyze the “adequacy, operation and planning of infrastructures & rdquor; available to the Barcelona local police.
Bondia will visit 12 corps equipment during the months of November and December, according to a statement from the agency. The first stage of the round will be the headquarters of the Free Zone Traffic Police Division, where detainees are guarded. One of the objectives of this visit is to check the state of the cells and the spaces in which this custody takes place.

In total, Bondia will go to the 10 territorial units of the Urban Guard, located in each of the city’s districts, in addition to the aforementioned Traffic Division and the joint command room of the Urbana and the Mossos on Lleida street .
The trustee will attend the facilities with members of his advisory team and with a legal professional specialized in the matter. The analysis of the spaces will be done based on a document that establishes the same criteria. The final objective is to write a report that evaluates the suitability of the headquarters of the Urban Guard, as well as to formulate recommendations to “improve the quality of service provision in those facilities & rdquor ;.
