The coronavirus keep moving forward in Catalonia and in the whole of Spain, but to a pace very far from that of other European countries, some of which are reverting to restrictions. High vaccination is slowing down the effects of the virus, but it is reluctant to disappear and hospitals are even seeing an increase in the number of patients. According to data updated this Wednesday by Salut, the spread of the coronavirus continues to grow in Catalonia, where the risk of regrowth has gone from moderate to medium-high level -more than 70 EPG points-. From yesterday to today it has risen 13 points, going from 72 to 85. And for the third day in a row, the number of people hospitalized for covid increases again.
The experts, as the group of researchers at the UPC BiocomSc, highlight that the growth is more widespread than in summer, although lower, and they call for vaccination those who are not yet immunized to avoid the consequences of the virus.
The contagions #covid19 in Catalonia, unfortunately, they go from a certain stability with punctual growth to a more consistent growth. Growth much lower than summer, but clearer and more widespread (we estimate Rt around 1.2-1.3) @opendatacat 1/ pic.twitter.com/Q06tG5W9Gb
