The Polytechnic mirror

The federal Executive has other data: comparing the student strike that has kept CIDE in suspension of activities for three weeks with the 1968 movement may seem absurd. And maybe so.

The Cideite community, however, cannot help but see itself in the mirror of what happened at the National Polytechnic Institute six years ago. The then director of that house of studies, Yoloxóchitl Bustamante, unilaterally appointed the directors of academic units, higher schools and vocational schools.

The rejection of all sectors led to a work stoppage that lasted for eight months that ended until 25 managers were removed, including Bustamante. Since then, the Polytechnic has seen three directors pass and is experiencing a precarious stability.

So far the comparisons. In the middle of the Peñista administration, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong wanted to manipulate the polytechnic community to pay for his presidential aspirations and marginalized the then head of the SEP, Emilio Chuayffet.

Right now no one in the Fourth Transformation seems to want to appropriate the dialogue with the Cideite community, although the PAN leadership yesterday, December 13, addressed this conflict with the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, and this afternoon, the students will march to the campus Legislative to expose its problems to parliamentarians.

The conflict in the IPN, however, has been latent. And it could be resumed in the final stretch of the appointment process of the new holders of academic units and higher schools. The student community, faculty, and administrative workers have a voice, but are not directly involved in the appointment of officers.

In public institutions of secondary and higher education, there are practices of indirect democracy. And in the Polytechnic, the opinions of the community do not have binding effects, except when it comes to integrating the shortlist that is valued by the general management.

The renewal of the directives of the higher schools of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, of Medicine and Homeopathy and of Commerce and Administration, are in the making.

At ESIME, the polytechnic community has expressed itself on the ratification of the current director, Hugo Quintana Espinosa, who ran for the position again, along with five other applicants. In the consultations, he obtained 75% of the favorable opinions, but the general director of the IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, has not yet officially announced his decision.

The day before, a package with “documentary evidence” began to circulate that points to an unjustified exercise of at least 16 million pesos in that institution and complaints about alleged administrative irregularities of the current ESIME directive.

Reyes Sandoval served one year at the head of the National Polytechnic. His appointment, approved by the federal Executive, was processed in the Conacyt, by María Elena Álvarez-Buylla. You have discreetly met the goals of your work program

The health contingency kept the academic and student community in remote work. Stability prevailed. And pending is the celebration of the Polytechnic Congress, agreed between the parties a six-year term.

A congress in which students, professors, managers and administrative employees define the direction of the institution is what the general director of Conacyt proposed to the community of Cideíta, which at the end of this space continued with its deliberations on the relevance of concluding with the unemployment.

Side effects

DISPUTED. Due to the improper disposition of 1,000 million pesos of the F-3201 trust, the representatives of the fiduciary division of Grupo Financiero Actinver filed a commercial lawsuit against Bx +, which was admitted by the fourth civil judge of the CDMX. The notification of their orders, however, was not expedited and, according to reports from the actuaries, the bank officials argued alleged inaccuracies in the notification document and refused to receive the summons, on December 8. In his opinion, the intention of the credit institution was to take advantage of the fact that the courts are about to go on vacation and avoid reflecting the contingent liability that this lawsuit represents in its financial statements at the end of 2021. The lawsuit filed against BX + forces said credit institution to establish the accounting reserves required by law, of at least one billion pesos, to cover the judicial contingency, in addition to having the obligation to disclose said contingency to its investors and the saving public in general. To give context to the contingent liability that this demand represents for BX +, at the end of 2020 the bank reported stockholders’ equity of 6,439 million pesos, capital stock of 1,724 million and a net result of 587 million pesos.

AUSTEROS? The SAT accumulates five months of delay in the payment of the cleaning service of its central offices and the headquarters of the agencies for the attention of taxpayers. The contract, assigned only in April to the firm Joad, cleaning and services, will be in force until next December 31 and only then will they be able to stop providing their services. Last week they stood outside the SAT headquarters to claim their payments and denounce the harassment of Paloma Rachel Aguilar, in charge of the Administration of Resources and Services. But that is not all, because to the intimidation we would have to add the intentions to give them illegal sanctions, as detailed by the company itself in a document sent to the head of the Complaints, Complaints and Investigations Area, Erika Lissette Zavala.
