The Metaverse is coming. Long considered one of the next big breakthroughs in shared digital spaces, the Metaverse idea recently got a boost from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg when he announced that the company is investing $ 10 billion and renaming its own platform with the name Meta. But Facebook is not alone. There are already worlds and platforms of games like Fortnite and Roblox that are building elements of it. There is a long way to go before we get to something that has been depicted in movies like “The Matrix” and “Ready Player One.” But as the development really gets underway, now is the time to ask ourselves what we want the Metaverse to look like and how to make it beneficial to everyone.
