The housing industry and political class mourns the death of Miguel Gómez Mont Urueta

This Monday the death of Miguel Gómez Mont Uruera was announced, who was a key figure in the housing industry occupying relevant positions, mainly in the private sector where he founded the National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry ( Canadevi).

Upon the news of his death, various actors from the industry, as well as from the political class, lamented the death and sent their condolences to his family.

La Canadevi as well as its president, Gonzalo Méndez Dávalos, expressed in their social networks their regret at the death of the founder and former president of this organization that currently represents more than 1,000 developers.

“I send my condolences and my deepest condolences to the entire family of Ing. Miguel Gómez Mont for this unfortunate loss,” the current president of Canadevi wrote on his Twitter account.

For its part, the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States (Concamin) published the following message on its Twitter account: “Those of us who make up #CONCAMIN regret the sensitive death of Mr. Miguel Gómez Mont Urueta, former president and founder of @ CANADEVINAC. Rest in peace”.

Gómez Mont, who died at 68 years of age, was a character who was, almost always, linked to the housing industry. The deceased today was an industrial engineer from the Universidad Iberoamericana and had a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

Within the housing industry, he was president of the National Association of Industrial Housing Promoters, AC del Valle de México and national president of the National Federation of Industrial Housing Promoters (Provivac).

He was also a founding partner of Hipotecaria Su Casita and was founder and executive vice president of Corporación GEO, which he directed to be listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange, a milestone at the time for the housing sector.

Politicians’ messages

In addition to the housing industry, the political class also expressed their feelings about the death of Gómez Mont. On his Twitter account, former President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa posted a message about it.

“It is with deep sadness that I learn of the death of dear Miguel Gómez Mont, a great person and a good public servant. Rest in peace. My condolences to his family: wife, children, sisters and brothers, especially to Fernando, Tere, Tatis and Maria ”, expressed the former president of Mexico.

For his part, Marko Cortés, president of the National Action Party, posted a message on his Twitter account of condolences for the Gómez Mont family. “I regret the death of Miguel Gómez Mont Urueta. My condolences to his family and loved ones. I send you a loving hug ”.
