The Association of Economists of Aguascalientes seeks to create a Planning Commission

With the objective of developing plans focused on the urban development of Aguascalientes and the water stress that the state presents, the Association of Economists of the entity announced that it will develop a Planning Commission.

In a press conference, the president of the Association of Economists, José Gil Gordillo, explained that it is necessary to improve the urban planning of the state, where the geographical conditions and the economic vocations of each point are taken advantage of.

As an institution, he deepened, they will seek to generate long-term development models to present them to the authorities and that regardless of changes in government, these can be sources of consultation.

“We have to rethink the economic vision of the state with the inclusion of modern companies (…) The urban planners and architects are not economists, they do not see the economic dynamics of each region of the state, for that reason, we are going to be opening the Planning Commission ”, he assured.

The head of the Central North Regional Vice Presidency of the National Federation of Colleges of Economists, Jael Pérez Sánchez, indicated that they will support the elaboration of these plans, since the current plan needs to be modified and whose vision is to 2045.

“The Aguascalientes development model that was proposed 40 years ago is reaching its exhaustion, a new one should be made with a vision of at least 30 years and it should be oriented towards economic diversification, leaving dependence on the manufacturing sector, automotive,” he said.

Pérez Sánchez stressed that within this vision plan that they seek to generate, they will also include the issue of water, since its solvency and liquidity is already a factor that is taken into account to attract investment.

“Really, it is very important to develop a long-term vision with water (…) not only the next 6 years should be taken into account, it is 30 years. We must see what will happen with the water issue,” she said.

He stressed that water should already be a state policy to prevent a scenario like Nuevo León from being generated in northern Mexico.
