The arrival of a new wash from the La Palma volcano to the sea confines 3,000 residents in Tazacorte

The Government of the Canary Islands has decreed the confinement of 3,000 residents of Tazacorte, San Borondón and the scattered area from El Cardón to Camino los Palomares to the north due to the arrival of the lava flow that had been advancing for days between the mountains of Todoque and La Laguna.

The measure, indicates the administration in a statement, it is taken as a precaution against possible gas emanations harmful to people’s health.

The wash that had been advancing for days between the mountains of Todoque and La Laguna on the island of La Palma has finally reached the sea around 12:01 this Monday, at a point located further north of the first delta that began to form on the night of September 28, closer to the port of Tazacorte.

As observed in a video taken from the port of Tazacorte by eyewitnesses, there is already a third point of arrival of the lava from the volcano to the ocean, which is added to the first at the end of September and the one that buried the beach of Los Guirres a few days ago.
