The Government of the Canary Islands has decreed the confinement of 3,000 residents of Tazacorte, San Borondón and the scattered area from El Cardón to Camino los Palomares to the north due to the arrival of the lava flow that had been advancing for days between the mountains of Todoque and La Laguna.

The measure, indicates the administration in a statement, it is taken as a precaution against possible gas emanations harmful to people’s health.
