Thanksgiving meals are served at Street Help

Article content

Most aid centers in the city have stopped serving Thanksgiving dinners this year due to the current COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

But Street Help in the central area of the city decided, instead of having a traditional dinner, it would provide a take-out service to those in need.

Box dinners were scheduled to be distributed throughout the day on Sundays and Mondays.

Street Help, located in the 900 block of Wyandotte Street East, served food pick-up between 11 am and 5 pm both days.

The Salvation Army, New Song Church and Mission Center are among those annually serving a Thanksgiving dinner to those in need, but for health and safety reasons due to the virus they decided not to do so this year.
