Telus invests $ 28.5 million to improve its Internet services in Burnaby

Telus continues to expand its Internet services in Western Canada with a new investment of $ 28.5 million in the city of Burnaby, British Columbia.

According to the Press release, more Burnaby homes will soon have access to high-speed fiber-optic Internet from Telus, which the operator calls its “PureFibre” network, thanks to new wireless infrastructure due to be built later this year.

Burnaby is the latest region Telus is targeting as part of the Vancouver-based airline’s $ 13 billion investment to improve its operations in British Columbia. The expansion, which was launched in May 2021, is expected to continue through 2024.

More recently, in August 2021, the city of Quesnel, BC was connected to the Telus 5G network thanks to funds from the same investment.

This year, the three Canadian carrier giants, Telus, Bell and Rogers, have invested billions of dollars in building and upgrading their respective Internet infrastructure networks across the country.
