Telus’ Apple Watch 24/7 Emergency Alert Service Now Available in French

The Telus Health Companion service for Apple Watch, which provides assistance and emergency services to seniors living at home, is now offered in the two official languages of Canada.

First launched in May 2021, the 24/7 service uses the Apple Watch’s Fall Detection API and location data to signal when users have fallen.

A Telus Health operator then talks to the user: now in english or french – through the clock, and you can remotely alert your emergency contacts or call 911 if you need help.

Telus is currently charging $ 30 per month for service, if you already have an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer.

Otherwise, you can pay $ 54 per month to purchase the watch and service as a bundle through a 2-year payment plan.

To work, the service must also be linked to an iPhone 6s or later with updated iOS and a wireless Telus plan.
