The Trade Union of Telephone Operators of the Mexican Republic (STRM) began the consultation with which they will have to ratify the decision made by the General Assembly this Tuesday to break out the strike this Friday at 12:00 noon.
According to the union organization, this process is carried out with a secret, free and direct vote of the workers in their different specialties, in order to comply with the legal requirements to present to the authority the decision of the complete basis for the strike. .
It should be noted that for three years the telephone operators have presented various explosions, and in this process of negotiating the Contract Review 2022-2024 The Telephone and Real Estate Company is also added, and has strike summons for violations of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and for failure to release vacancies.
The General Secretary of the Telephonists Union, Francisco Hernandez Juarezstated that the proposal presented by the company to carry out a good negotiation does not meet the demands of the workers and, “on the contrary, in the way it was presented, it does intend to divide the active and retired workers, for which was rejected in these instances.
Labor specialists predict that the strike will not break out; especially since it is an essential service, it is not possible to suspend it. In addition, the union must ratify the petition and present it to the labor authority highlighting the lack of agreement, and comply with what its statutes indicate to give timely compliance.
Likewise, Hernández Juárez is expected to offer a press conference this Friday at 11:00 in the morning.
