A 17-year-old driver died Sunday night after the car he was driving crashed into a light pole on Westbound Highway 20 in Drummondville.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when the Sherbrooke resident driver apparently lost control of the vehicle. A teenage passenger was slightly injured in the accident.

The Sûreté du Québec has launched an investigation into how the accident occurred.
