TAG Airlines seeks more flights from Guatemala to Mexico

The Guatemalan TAG Airlines plans to add three new routes to the southeast of Mexico next year because there is a “great potential for connectivity” in the Mundo Maya region, which will be facilitated by the fact that it will receive planes of greater capacity than those it currently has ( from 35 passengers to 72) and an interline agreement is already being negotiated with a local partner, said its director, Julio Gamero.

The airline began flying to Mexico since last August on the Guatemala-Cancun and Guatemala-Tapachula routes (the Cancun-Flores route will begin in December, tickets are on sale).

According to figures from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, in its first two months it added 1,066 passengers.

In a videoconference, the manager said that they will participate in the next tourist market and have already agreed business appointments with the Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco, state officials and tour operators, among other actors in the sector.
