Sustainable crowdfunding, on alert due to the Electricity Industry Law

The Electricity Industry Law (LIE) has alerted different industries, one of them is crowdfunding, where there are projects that are committed to clean energies with the installation of solar panels in different properties and that can generate returns for investors.

In this sense, the RedGirasol crowdfunding platform, which is close to obtaining its final authorization to operate under the law to Regulate Financial Technology Institutions, known as the fintech law, made a statement after the validation of the LEL by the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) and its vote foreseen by the Congress of the Union.

“At RedGirasol we believe that this endorsement by the SCJN represents an important setback to transform Mexico into a country that is the spearhead to promote clean energieswhich have shown both in our territory and in other nations to be a route that the planet needs to take care of the environment and allow a better tomorrow for future generations”, can be read in a position of this firm.

RedGirasol is a collective funding platform in charge of connecting investors with companies that bet on sustainable projectssuch as the installation of solar panels or other sustainable technologies.

Under this scenario, the firm, since 2016, when it began operations, has supported 687 projects in 29 states of the republic, which have achieved the reduction of 80,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

“The clean energies they are very noble, they have a useful life of more than 25 years… we call on legislators to consider again this April 11, when the approval of the constitutional reform is brought to the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, that the energies clean benefit not only Mexico but the entire planet,” the platform highlighted.

According to the firm, despite any scenario, it will continue its work, from the private initiative, so that Mexico can be at the forefront in promoting renewable energy. “Not only that, but the use of these can be democratized by generating business models where everyone can have access in a simple way and at low cost.”
