Suspect wanted downtown for stabbing

Police are looking for witnesses to help identify a suspect after a man was stabbed in downtown Toronto in the early hours of Sunday.

Toronto police responded to a stabbing call in the Yonge St. and Front St. area at 1:30 a.m. A man was reported to have approached a group of people and proceeded to stab another.

The suspect fled east on Front St. E. and then possibly north on Scott St.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The suspect is described as 5ft 10in with a medium build, in his 30s, with curly black hair and a scruffy beard. He was last seen in packed clothes, with a backpack, a construction harness and a vest.
