Strong winds are expected Thursday as Environment Canada issues special weather statements for much of Ontario.

Toronto residents can look forward to another day of windy weather on Thursday.

Environment Canada issued a special meteorological declaration for the city on Thursday morning, warning of strong winds for much of the day and into the night. Wind gusts of between 70 and 90 km / h are expected.

Similar weather statements were issued for much of the province. The system is part of the Colorado Low which is bringing strong southwesterly winds across most of northeastern and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada warned that damaging winds could cause trees to fall or power outages.

This weather system comes on the heels of a strong windstorm that left more than 200,000 people without power across the province over the weekend.
