MARKET REVIEW. The New York Stock Exchange opened higher on Friday, boosted by a good macroeconomic indicator on US retail sales that reassured the economic recovery.
The Toronto Stock Exchange stagnated at the opening.
The clues
In Toronto, the S & P / TSX was evolving close to balance (+ 0.02%) at 20,187 points.
In New York, the S&P 500 increased 11 points, or 0.26%, to 4,371 points.
The Dow jones gained 53 points, or 0.15%, to 35,040 points.
The Nasdaq rose 66 points, or 0.46%, to 14,609 points.
