Event organizer Scott Gurney briefly sums up Brewery & The Beast as a “fest of meat, beer and music.”

Taking place this Sunday in Vancouver before appearing in Victoria on September 25, the multi-city event features BC brewers, chefs, food producers and musicians who share their appreciation for meat, beer and music .

“It’s a one-of-a-kind culinary event,” says Gurney.

While Gurney admits the food and beer event is certainly a “meat lover’s paradise,” he says there are some offerings for those who prefer something different.

“There are some sneaky offerings that aren’t 100% meat-centric,” says Gurney. “Some chefs will create dishes with seafood, freshwater fish and even some vegetarian offerings may appear from time to time.

“But overall, this event is definitely for carnivores!”

This year’s event will feature more than 60 local chefs, including Top Chef Canada finalist Kym Nguyen, Popina Canteen’s Robert Belcham and Kelowna’s “edible storyteller” Aman Dosanj, according to a press release. Restaurant crews from the likes of Juke Fried Kitchen, Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar and Osterio Savio Volpe will also serve up some meaty bites.

Three local breweries will be highlighted: Red Truck, Driftwood and Vancouver Island Brewing, along with a variety of cocktails, wines and ciders.

Festival organizers say partial profits from all ticket sales will be donated to BC Chefs Table Societya collaboration of chefs from all over the province.
