We recently sat down with the star player and genius human (who routinely gives back to the community through mentorship and other admirable philanthropic initiatives) for an interview. The results were revealing and unexpected…

We know that he has been recovering from a shoulder injury that kept him out of the game for longer than expected. It was a bummer for you, the team and the fans. But that means more relaxation at home. What is your number one room to relax?

That injury was definitely difficult to deal with, but in the end I was happy to avoid something more serious, like surgery. He also provided certain opportunities off the field. I was able to relax and recover at home, spending time in the living room, where I enjoyed the view of downtown, played video games, and spent quality time with friends and family. One of the things I especially love about the design of this space is the clean lines and calming aesthetic.

How’s the kitchen? Is it a hot spot for Uber Eats or do you actually use it? Does entertainment influence? If so, what’s your idea of a good house party?

The kitchen is definitely there for aesthetics – Uber Eats is on the way as we speak. I would say I use it most for breakfast to make eggs or whatever, depending on the day. But in the end for me it is more aesthetic.

As far as entertaining goes, I’m someone who likes to host as much as I can. We usually have game night here once a week. Friends and teammates bring board games. We order food, we laugh a lot, and of course, given my competitive nature, I try to beat everyone as much as possible!

By your social networks, we know that you are not beyond the care of a little man. Would you like to share some of your favorite men’s grooming destinations and preferred products?

One thing you should know about me is that I am very picky about my hair. And by picky, we’re talking about haircuts every 10 to 14 days like clockwork. My barbershop is Le Social House. I even know when my hair is at its best (four days later). So if I have an event coming up, I’ll make sure to schedule a cut four days before. As for the product, I don’t actually use any, just water. The same goes for skin care. My only go-to product is a bar of soap like Dove.

Any great plans for the holidays?

Because it’s low season for us, we tend to take advantage of our vacation time now. So, in a little while I’ll go to Costa Rica and then Florida. It’s always nice to get out of the cold, snowy Montreal weather and enjoy the sun.

Finally, James, this last one isn’t about man caves or vacations, but single women want to know: are you single and ready to socialize? On that note, what’s your favorite date destination?

I’m definitely single. And I have two, three places to date, but they will remain hidden unless you’re the girl I’m dating!
