So far in 2022 there are 34 deaths of minors associated with Covid

The National System for the Comprehensive Protection of Girls, Boys and Adolescents (Sipinna) announced that between 1 and 23 January, there were 34 deaths of minors related to Covid-19. In total, from 12 April 2020 to the 23rd, 1,055 deaths were registered.

In the report of 16 January last year, Sipinna recorded a total of eight deaths due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, i.e. in seven days another 26 cases were registered, according to the report of “final classification confirming cases by laboratory include”. ; as well as those confirmed by the clinical association and by the Judging Committee ”.

The entities that registered the increases in the number of deceased minors were the Edomex (4) which went from 141 to 145, two deaths were added to the range from zero to five years and a few more in the 12 to 17 years .

CDMX (3) is in second place, going from 72 to 75 deaths; One case of a minor between zero and five years old and two between 12 and 17 years old was added.

Another entity that recorded an increase, of three deaths of minors due to Covid, was Baja California: two in the range of zero to five years and another of 12 to 17 years.

The states that concentrate the largest number of minors who died from Covid-19, from 2020 to January 23, are Edomex (145); Puebla (84); Mexico City (75); Nuevo Leon (60) and Oaxaca (54).

In infections, the report set out that by January 16, there were a total of 260,063 cases, while 279,130 ​​were registered by the 23rd, meaning that in seven days, 19,067 children and adolescents in our country were infected with Covid-19.

The capital of the country in that period had a total of 103,456 infections, which positions it as the entity with the highest number of cases. It is followed by the state of Mexico with 24,475 and Guanajuato with 15,682.

According to age groups, the accumulated infections of SARS-CoV-2 from 12 April 2020 to 23 January 2022, 15.7% corresponded with the population from zero to five years old, i.e. 43,841.

In the population of six to 11 years old there is a record of 74,847 infections (26.8%) and in the range of 12 to 17 a total of 160,442 (57.5%), the segment of infants with the highest number of cases.

According to sex, male children and adolescents presented 50.2% of the total confirmed cases of Covid-19.
