Snowmobiler dies after swerving off road in Chaudière-Appalaches

A snowmobiler who was critically injured after swerving off the road in Frampton in the Chaudière-Appalaches region on Friday night has died.

According to the Sûreté du Québec, the man, who was riding the snowmobile alone, lost control on Cliche-Golden Rd. near the intersection of Perreault St. in the municipality located about 60 km south of Lévis.

SQ spokesperson Catherine Bernard said the snowmobile flipped over and the man found himself trapped beneath it. He suffered critical injuries and was taken to hospital, where his death was confirmed.

The cause for the loss of control remains to be determined. The SQ is investigating to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
