SNITIS files summons to strike at Panasonic plant

The Independent Union of Workers of Industries and Services “Movement 20/32” (SNITIS) filed a strike summons against the company on Tuesday Panasonic Automotive Systems of Mexicowith an expiration date of May 30, whose objective is to celebrate the signing of collective labor agreementbefore the expiration of the term.

The document was delivered to the Federal Board of Conciliation and Arbitration, as it is a company dedicated to the manufacture and production of electrical auto partsand whose procedure was registered with Folio 436, so that the company reviews the content of the first contract presented by the union organization, after having won the voting process to represent the workers.

It should be noted that on May 2 the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration issued the resolution in which it grants the SNITIS the certificate of representativeness for all Panasonic workers, and that represents Rosario Moreno Delgado.

Likewise, the complaint filed by the United States government against Mexico is in process to review the case of panasonic, before the presumed denial of labor rights; and that in 10 days the Mexican authorities must respond if the complaint is admitted to proceed accordingly against the company.

The union leader stressed that “the purpose of the strike is to celebrate the signing of the collective labor contract that will govern between panasonic and the union that I represent, and the obligation of the company is to sign said contract, for having formulated it in a timely manner”.

request sheet

The list of requests and the draft Collective Bargaining presented by the General Secretary of the SNITIS, Rosario Moreno, contemplates aspects that range from the hiring of workers (requirements); the promotions that in order to avoid layoffs, in case they become trustworthy, they will return to their basic unionized position, as well as issues about lost wages -in case of dismissal- and even personal treatment, privileging respect, avoiding “abuse of word or work”.

Likewise, it establishes the need for workers to receive training, in case the processes and nature of the production of products change; and in the case of teleworking, which is voluntary, the employer is asked to deliver the computer equipment with which they will carry out their work; assume the costs of telecommunications and electricity, in addition to complying with the obligations of the collective contract.

It also prohibits the existence of subcontracting and contractors, and establishes a 40-hour work week; and in the event that the company requires workers during rest days, the payment will be triple time on the tabulated salary.

The proposed contract also establishes that the company must register its workers in the Mexican Social Security Institute; as well as the payment of a bonus of 30 days for those who have between one and 9 years of service and 45 days for those who have 10 years or more.
