From 3:00 p.m. on Friday to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday six people have died in five traffic accidents on Catalan roads. This is the provisional balance of the Catalan Transit Servicewhat does a warning cry and asks for the maximum attention and prudence in the displacements of the rest of the weekend.
Have they died two bikers -in road exits and without another vehicle involved- and four tour drivers. There have been two head-on collisions – present in four out of ten fatal accidents on the road network – and one exit from the road with only one passenger car involved. Four of the five accidents have occurred in the afternoon slot and the accident rate has occurred in a very dispersed manner, on five different routes.
The latest deceased are drivers of two cars and a motorcyclist who have died in separate accidents recorded between Saturday night and Sunday morning in Les Borges Blaques (Lleida), Callus (Barcelona) and pratdip (Tarragona). With these three deaths they are already 56 people who have died on the interurban roads of Catalonia from January 1 of this year.

As a result of the accident, the DSS driver, 20 years old and a resident of Arbecawhile the passenger in the front seat of the car was less seriously injured and was transferred to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida.
Six Mossos patrols, three Fire Brigade crews and three SEM ambulances traveled to the scene of the accident, for which the road was closed for an hour to traffic in both directions.
Two head-on crashes in Callús and Cardedeu
At practically the same time, in the municipality of Callus, there was a frontal collision as a result of which the driver of a car died. The accident took place at kilometer 43.3 of the C-55 highway, as it passed through Callús, in the Bages region, when, for reasons under investigation, two passenger cars collided head-on.
As a result of the impact, the driver of one of the cars was critically injured and taken to the Manresa hospital (Barcelona), where he died this morning. He is a 38-year-old man whose identity responds to the initials of IMG and a resident of Navàs (Barcelona). The driver of the other tourism, as reported by Trànsit, was slightly injured.
In this accident, the troops of three Mossos patrols, four Fire Departments and three SEM ambulances acted. Also in this case, the road was closed for more than an hour for both directions of traffic.
