Shots fired in Villeray in Montreal


Shots were fired in the Villeray in Montreal on Monday evening, without causing any injuries.

A 911 call reported, Monday evening around 8:45 p.m., gunshots in the Villeray district at the intersection of rue Tillemont and avenue des Érables. They were allegedly fired from a moving vehicle.

A projectile impact was found on a building, police spokeswoman Mariane Allaire Morin said.

When the police dispatched to the scene, they located neither victim nor suspect, indicated the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The scene was protected by a security perimeter to allow investigators and the forensic identification technician to analyze it and understand the circumstances of this shooting.

The canine unit was also requested on the spot to help in the search for clues as part of the investigation which is still ongoing, it was added.
