Shots fired in Saint-Philippe: the residence would have been targeted by mistake

A residence in Saint-Philippe, in Montérégie, having been targeted by shots last week would have been targeted by mistake, according to the Sûreté du Québec.

On the night of March 3 to 4, the police went to rue Stéphane, where gunshots had just been heard.

A single-family home had been targeted by the projectiles. No one was injured during this event.

The investigation initiated by the Roussillon Intermunicipal Police Board was quickly transferred to major crime investigators from the Sûreté du Québec.

“According to the developments of the investigation, there would have been an error on the residence affected and its occupants since they were not the target of the suspect or suspects”, indicated the provincial police force in a press release.

To date, no arrests have been made in this case.

Anyone with information about this crime is invited to contact the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec, at 1 800 659-4264.
