LAS VEGAS — Shakur Stevenson will meet Oscar Valdez for the WBO, WBC and The Ring super featherweight titles on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Both champions are ready to prove that they are the future of boxing.
Valdez made his professional debut in 2012. He began his career with 10 wins by way of some form of knockout. In 2016, he won the WBO-NABO featherweight title and a few months later he beat Hiroshige Osawa to win the WBO featherweight title. Valdez defended the title six times.
After moving up to super featherweight, Valdez defeated Miguel Berchelt in February 2021 via knockout to win the WBC title. He last fought in September, defeating Robson Conceicao to defend the belt.
