Police are investigating threats against senior staff at Windsor Regional Hospital.

“We can confirm that more than one potential threat was recently received targeting individual and high-level leaders of the organization and that we have requested and received support and investigation from local law enforcement authorities,” the hospital said in a statement Friday.
The threats are believed to be in response to Windsor Regional’s strict vaccination mandate for employees. The threats were made Wednesday, the deadline for employees to receive their first dose unless they have a medical exemption. Almost 150 employees who had not received their first vaccination were placed on leave without pay for two weeks. If they haven’t received their first dose by October 7, they can be fired. The policy also applies to volunteers and students.
Some people have called the policy unfair and have said it violates their rights.
