The same day the Tourist Tianguis of Mexico in Merida, on November 16, the Tourism Secretariat will start an intense digital campaign called: Permanent dissemination, version of the tourism sector results.
The budget allocated by the agency is four million 087,765 pesos. Its objective: to strengthen the public image of the Secretariat, through strategic management and the flow of information it generates, directing efforts to improve society and the various actors in tourism.
In 31 communication media that have “wide information coverage for the citizens’ knowledge, at the national or state level, with a message to men and women, of all ages, different educational and economic levels,” the messages will be posted from 9 a.m. : 00 hours on the third Tuesday of November until 23:59 hours on December 31 of this year.
The process of choosing the media, in charge of the agency directed by Miguel Torruco, It was from the providers registered in the National Register of Printed Media, issued and authorized by the Interior Ministry.
Without a doubt, any effort to highlight the benefits of tourism in the country’s economy is and will be welcome.
In the complex moment that the sector is experiencing (which will have a break with the festival of tourist festivals that is the tianguis), it would not be bad if attractive elements of promotion of national destinations are integrated into this campaign, as many as possible, the which is so much needed after the extinction of the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico (CPTM).
To integrate images of the beach, the mountain, a Magic Town, a pyramid or a museum, the applause of the private sector and state governments would be heard loud and the congratulations to the secretary would be multiple. There is time for it and also hope. Of course you can do it.
Even the campaign information can be placed on the platform VisitMexico, international in scope.
For now, we must refer to the immediate objectives of the Secretariat: coordinate digital insertions in different formats, sizes and measures for the dissemination of actions, programs and results related to the tourism sector.
Reference will surely be made to the Armando Manzanero museum, the hotel museum, the Moctezuma fish route, the growing Turibus routes, the recovery of the domestic air sector, the new airport in Santa Lucía and others.
In this informative medium, periodically, the sector indicators are reported, of which the director of the CTourism Research and Competitiveness Center (Cicotur) Anahuac, Francisco Madrid, who usually says the phrase: from the data to the story.
So that November 16 becomes a historic day, we hope he will be the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador who offers, live and direct, the main words in the opening ceremony of the tianguis.
And hopefully also a great announcement (of those that generate an informative note) and a beautiful allusive song, as promised.
