Scarborough Junction shooting leaves 1 dead, homicide unit investigates

One person died after a nightly shooting at Toronto’s Scarborough Junction.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday near Midland Road and Danforth Avenue.

Investigators say the victim was shot in a vehicle, causing the car to crash into a light pole. The suspects later fled the scene.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on the victim, who was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

The homicide unit has taken over the investigation and the police remain on the scene.

No description of the suspect has been released.
