Leon Draisaitl marks his 30the goal and the Oilers win 2-1 against the Kraken

Leon Draisaitl scored his 30e goal on the 73e pass from Connor McDavid, Brett Kulak scored early in the third period and the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1 on Saturday.

Stuart Skinner stopped 24 shots and the Oilers won their third straight game. They have won their last six games against the Kraken.

Draisaitl found the back of the net midway through the second period and Kulak scored the game-winning goal at 8:02 of the next period.

Kulak scored following a good save from Skinner. The goaltender has won seven of his nine starts against the Kraken and his four games against this team this season.

Eeli Tolvanen found the back of the net for the Kraken on the power play with 6:37 left in regulation. It was his 15e goal of the campaign.

Draisaitl took a penalty with 53 seconds left to allow the Kraken to play six against four, while Philipp Grubauer returned to the bench in favor of an additional player.

Skinner, however, saved the day with big saves in the final seconds of the game.

Grubauer stopped 24 shots.

Sean Monahan makes the difference for the Jets, who defeat the Hurricanes 5-3

Sean Monahan broke a tie with 3:13 remaining in the third period and the Winnipeg Jets erased a three-goal deficit to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3 on Saturday.

The former Montreal Canadiens forward took advantage of a hazardous exit from Pyotr Kochetkov, who was trying to clear the puck. Monahan took the puck and shot into an empty net.

It was his seventh goal in 11 games with the Jets and a 20e since the start of the campaign.

Nino Niederreiter scored twice in the victory, hitting the target in an empty cage. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele also scored for the Jets, who have won five of their last six games.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 32 pucks in front of the visitors’ net.

Sebastian Aho, Martin Necas and Teuvo Teravainen gave the Hurricanes a three-goal lead. Andrei Svechnikov had two assists and Kochetkov made 27 saves.

Panthers blank Red Wings 4-0

Sergei Bobrovsky signed his 42e career shutout, Sam Reinhart scored his 42e net of the season and the Florida Panthers beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 on Saturday.

Bobrovsky blocked 21 shots and recorded his fourth shutout of the season, as well as his fifth career against the Red Wings. The goaltender also blanked the Red Wings on November 2.

Bobrovsky has won nine of his last 10 starts. The Panthers have won 11 of the last 12 meetings against the Red Wings.

Reinhart has three goals in his last two games, setting a Panthers all-time high with 24 power play goals.

Brandon Montour scored and added two assists, Evan Rodrigues had a goal and an assist and Carter Verhaeghe scored on the power play.

The Panthers, who are 28-0-3 when leading after 40 minutes, lead the league in road wins with 21.

Alex Lyon stopped 32 shots for the Red Wings, who were shut out for the third time this campaign.

Patrick Kane’s streak of games with at least one point ended at 10.
