Sarnia Sting defeats the London Knights for the second consecutive game – London | The Canadian News

A goal in the third period from the son of a former London Knight pulled the reins on a heavy charge to the Knights’ comeback in a 4-2 loss to Sarnia Sting at Budweiser Gardens on Friday night.

Brayden Guy broke a puck through a screen and entered the London net with 6:42 remaining in the third period to stop the momentum London had built with goals from Liam Gilmartin and Ruslan Gazizov in the third period. Guy’s father, Mark, played for the Knights from 1988 to 1991 and then went on to pursue a career with the Western Mustangs.

Down 3-0 in 40 minutes, London head coach Dale Hunter made a goal change to try and find a spark when Owen Flores entered the Knights area for his first appearance in the Ontario Hockey League. . Almost instantly, Flores was called in to stop a shot from a cross pass from Nolan Burke to Nolan Dann and he threw a left leg and made the save.
