SAQ reaches new agreement in principle with warehouse and delivery workers

Union is confident that this agreement will be approved after the first one is rejected.

Société des alcools du Québec has reached an agreement in principle with the union representing 800 warehouse and delivery workers. the union announced Tuesday .

It is the second such deal, after the first was rejected by 86 percent of union voters last week.

“After intense renegotiations since the rejection, the negotiating committee is confident and eager to present the fruits of the latest negotiations to the general assembly,” said Joël Latour, president of the SAQ Syndicat des travailleurs et travailleuses.

Workers will meet on Friday and Saturday to vote on the deal. The details of its content will not be released until then.

The union’s last contract ended on April 1, 2021.
