Sandra Cuevas is linked to the process and will continue to be suspended as mayor of Cuauhtémoc


A Control Judge linked this Thursday to the process the licensed mayor of Cuauhtémoc Sandra Cuevas for the crimes of theft, abuse of authority and discrimination.

The Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office obtained link to process against four public servants of the Mayor Cuauhtemoc, including the head of the demarcation, for their probable participation in crimes of theft and abuse of authority. In the case of the mayor also due to discrimination, the capital’s Prosecutor’s Office specified.

The Judge determined that the precautionary measures of temporary separation from the position of Cuevas Nieves, the prohibition to leave the country and to approach the victims, subsist.

Last February, the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation against Sandra Cuevas, after two policemen accused her of having assaulted them and held them in the facilities of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, of which she is the owner.
