Samuel García invites entrepreneurs to come and start a business in Nuevo León

Monterrey, NL. The governor, Samuel Garcia Sepúlveda, made an open invitation: if “you want to undertake, come to Nuevo León”, with the announcement of a support program for 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) so that they can start their business, in addition to helping 2,300 SMEs with credit.

In a video that García Sepúlveda shared on his social networks, he recalled that small and medium-sized companies represent 90% of the economy of Nuevo León, therefore, in addition to the project and the support of one million pesos to 2,300 SMEs, he enlists another very important project that they work together with the four of the entity’s Universities.

“SMEs always face the expenses of lawyers, accountants, logistics and others, so the government of Nuevo León together with the Universities are going to create a program that comes in (labeled) the 2022 Budget, to assist and help 1,000 SMEs to start their business, “said the governor.

“You want to start a business, come to Nuevo León,” he added.

For his part, the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez explained that this program is carried out in coordination with the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), Regiomontana University (ERRE), the University of Monterrey (Udem), and the Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Rivas Rodríguez expressed that in addition to their multiple needs, small and medium-sized companies need to professionalize.

“With a consulting, training and linkage program, we want the buses to sell to the small ones, the latter to the medium-sized ones, and the latter to the large ones, it will be a great way to help them.”

“The important thing is that they become professional, with a specialized consultant who will take them by the hand for six months, and will train them on multiple topics they need to be much more active in state economic development,” he said.

According to the 2019 Economic Censuses of the National Institute of Geography and Statistics (Inegi)94.9% of the establishments in Mexico are micro, 4.9% are small and medium-sized companies, and only 0.2% are large.

Of the total number of establishments, micro-enterprises employ 37.2% of the employed population; while small and medium-sized companies employ 30.7% of the employed population.
