Samuel García invites Chinese investors to participate in tenders for infrastructure works

The Secretary of Economy of Nuevo LeónIván Rivas Rodríguez, invited a delegation of Chinese businessmen, led by the Chinese ambassador to Mexico, Zhu Qingqiao, to participate in the tender for the most important works of the current administration: three subway lines, the train suburban and three highways.

At the request of Governor Samuel García, the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, extended the invitation to the delegation with which he met at the Government Palace.

“Governor Samuel García entrusted me to tell you about the infrastructure projects that are to come. In the coming months, three subway lines, three superhighways and a suburban train that will transport 170,000 daily users are going to be tendered, the tenders will be very soon and we hope to have your participation,” said Rivas Rodríguez.

He added that the technology projects They are also very important for the government and they hope to continue negotiating with Chinese companies in that sector, so that they come to do business in Nuevo León.

“We are at your service, to grow, to expand, to continue doing business in Nuevo León, as well as to avoid obstacles, or if you have any difficulties, we are here to serve you,” he said.

The meeting, held in the multipurpose room of the Government Palace, was accompanied by the ambassador near 20 entrepreneurs and managers of Chinese companies, and some that have already established themselves in the entity.

China is a great ally for Nuevo León. According to data from the federal Ministry of Economy, the state has received 8.8% of Chinese investment nationwide, which positions the entity as number four in receipt of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from that country in Mexico. .

Iván Rivas Rodríguez recalled that the Hofusan Industrial Park was established in the entity, developed by Holley Group, Futong Group and the Santos family, in the municipality of Salinas Victoria. Is he first park of Chinese origin.

“From 2020 to date, 107 investment announcements have been made, of which 29 have been from Chinese companies, which represents 27.2% of the total. Some of these projects are from companies such as Yanfeng Mexico, Hisense, Kuka Home, Lenovo, Bellinturf, Hofusan and Joyson Safety Systems, among others.

He added that Nuevo León has a portfolio of 346 investment projects under negotiation, of which 67 are from China, and represent 19.3% of the total. As for new investment projects confirmed in 2021 in Nuevo León, China was the second country from which most of these projects were received, after the United States.

Ambassador Zhu Qingqiao expressed that China and Mexico are really good friends and good partners and that Chinese companies are very satisfied with the work carried out by the government of Nuevo León, which has a very young governor and a good development plan. .
