Saint-Stanislas-de-Kostka: an octogenarian dies after a collision

An 82-year-old man died Thursday evening after a collision in Saint-Stanislas-de-Kostka, in Montérégie.

The accident took place around 5:15 p.m., on Route 132, near Montée Léger. For a reason that remains unknown to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers, the vehicle, probably due to bad weather, took the opposite route. He found himself face to face with another vehicle, with a 21-year-old man on board.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The octogenarian unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the accident will be investigated. An accident scene reconstructionist was also expected on the scene to analyze the scene, while the road was closed to traffic to allow him to do his job.
