Rosalinda González, “the only link” between Los Cuinis and CJNG

Rosalinda González Valencia, alias La Jefa, wife of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, el Mencho, leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), detained by the government of Mexico, allegedly integrates the financial structure of that criminal organization.

She is the sister of Abigael González Valencia, identified by the authorities as second in command of the CJNG, and of José González Valencia, both arrested in 2015 and 2017, respectively, leaders of the Los Cuinis cartel.

“The organization led by the González Valencia brothers had a decisive role in the formation of the CJNG, structuring the group’s financial sector and leaving most of the armed front under the control of El Mencho and its criminal disputes with other groups such as Los Zetas” , cites an analysis by InSight Crime on the significance of Rosalinda’s arrest for the CJNG.

“With several of Los Cuinis behind bars and the United States government offering a $ 10 million reward for El Mencho, Rosalinda is probably the only link between the two organizations and the one who could have the most information on the criminal relationship. within the two groups ”.

And he says: “Los Cuinis amassed a true empire of assets through which they laundered millions in criminal profits for the CJNG, including shopping centers, hotels, real estate agencies, restaurants and a tequila company. His activities were not only limited to Mexico, since the arrests of several relatives of González Valencia revealed alleged money laundering connections with Brazil and Uruguay.

“The kingpin’s rapid rise in the cartel was premeditated by his marriage to Rosalinda. A perfect mix to maintain the symbiosis between Los Cuinis and the CJNG ”.

Rosalinda’s arrest, the analysis concludes, is not the last personal setback that Mencho has endured as head of the CJNG. “His son, brother and brothers-in-law have been arrested, but they had no visible impact on the life of Oseguera Cervantes.”
