The National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) held the Hearing for the Presentation of Proposals for the Round Colombia 2021 with a view to giving greater dynamism to the country’s oil production and exploration. As a result, 148.5 million dollars were committed between the areas offered by the ANH and those offered by the industry.
The 17 companies authorized for the process revealed their exploration, evaluation and production proposals for the areas in question. For the areas nominated by the industry, an award sum of $ 117 million was generated. In the areas proposed by the ANH, the amount was 31.5 million dollars with 22 deserted areas.
According to Armando Zamora, president of the ANH, this figure exceeds the goals established in the National Development Plan, so the balance of the process was positive. However, Zamora explained that, with the counter offer to the proposals made today, on December 16, the investment amounts may change, so they could be even higher.
With these results, the Government reaches the signing of 69 contracts by awarded areas, so the goal of contracts established for the administration on duty (50), was exceeded by 38%, with the 30 new areas assigned.
This corresponds to the fourth cycle of the Permanent Process of Allocation of Areas (Ppaa), it had 28 areas offered by the ANH located in mature, emerging and border basins, of which 23 are continental and 5 Offshore in the Colombian Pacific, for subscription of E&P and TEAS contracts. Qualified companies nominated 25 areas, for a total of 53.
