If Manchester United were still trying to make a run at finishing in the top four, they sure didn’t show it during the 1-1 draw against Chelsea. The Red Devils are now five points out of fourth place with just three games to play, and will need a miracle at this point to secure a Champions League spot.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the equalizer for United two minutes after Marcos Alonso put the visitors ahead with a wide volley in the area. Ronaldo pounced on a lovely pass from Nemanja Matic into the box and sent a searing rocket into the roof of the net for his 17th Premier League goal.

The point allows Chelsea to maintain a stranglehold on third place in the Premier League standings, six points clear of the nearest challenger. The Blues’ focus now is on preparing for the FA Cup final on 14 May against Liverpool, and an injury substitution of N’Golo Kante will be something to monitor.
